How does Invisalign® works?

The Invisalign® system works with state-of-the-art technology, providing both you and us with precise results. To begin with, we use the Trios 3 shape digital scanner, which enables us to gain accurate impressions of your teeth and jaws. This scanner works in conjunction with a clever piece of 3D computer imaging software called ClinCheck. This process means you can see in advance how straight and beautiful your teeth will look, once you’ve completed orthodontic treatment.

Traditionally, metal wires and brackets were the only way to straighten teeth. The evolution in technology and demand for aesthetics has paved the way for alternative solutions. 01 Initial Consultation

Our dentists meet with you to determine whether Invisalign® aligners are the right solution to achieve your dream smile. This is where we learn about you: your story, your smile aspirations, your fears and your needs. We also look at the way you smile, speak and bite, taking note of your unique facial structure and characteristics. All of this gives us the information we need to create a treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

02 3D Scans & Preview

After assessing suitability for Invisalign® treatment, we complete comprehensive 3D scans of your teeth to commence designing your new smile and creating your unique set of aligners, getting you well on your way to achieving your new straight smile. You’re shown a preview of your predicted end result and smile design through Clincheck video technology, allowing you to make changes – all to ensure you’re completely happy with the end result.

03 Start Your Bespoke Aligners

Once your bespoke aligners are carefully fabricated by Invisalign®, you will be able to get started with your treatment. After we provide with your initial set of aligners, we will review your treatment progress every 4-6 weeks for the duration of your treatment, and pass on your next set of aligners, to wear 22-24 hours each day. Once you’ve applied your final aligner, your teeth are positioned correctly and you’re completely satisfied with the end result, you will be able to walk away with your new, straight smile.

For best results, wear your aligners for 22 hours every day. This gives you just enough time to eat, brush and floss throughout the day.

Yes. But with Invisalign, every hour counts, and you shouldn’t remove them regularly. We’d recommend keeping your aligner in whenever you can. Plus, they’re so discreet that most people won’t even notice.

Invisalign is fantastic for treating a whole range of Orthodontic issues. In some cases, it may be better to opt for conventional fixed braces, especially for complex problems.

Each case is different. The average treatment time is 9-15 months, but some cases can take up to two years and some cases can be finished in just three months!!

The Invisalign process is largely dependent on regular wear. If you wear it regularly for the recommended hours, results can be achieved faster than braces.

We’ll want to check in around every 4-6 weeks to hand you your replacement aligner and check everything is going as per plan.

Some patients tell us their Invisalign aligner is a little uncomfortable during the first few days of treatment, but it usually subsides quickly. Day-to- day wear is generally more comfortable than fixed braces.
